InsureOS is built and operated by The Caretakers Limited, an Auckland software and design studio. The same people who scope the work stay involved through implementation, integration, launch, and support.
Alex started out as a designer, stumbled into coding, and never really looked back. Fifteen years later, he is Technical Director at The Caretakers, splitting his time between product strategy, system architecture, and horrible integration problems. For the past five years, many of those problems have involved insurance. Now he is building InsureOS to make the complicated bits considerably less complicated.
James is an engineer through and through, complete with an actual degree in software engineering. He is obsessive about finding the right workflow and, when it does not exist, building it. Across InsureOS, that means turning complicated insurance rules and operational edge cases into systems that are testable, explainable, and maintainable. He applies much the same rigour to toasted sandwiches, which explains the nickname Toastie.
Keir has spent nearly three decades in advertising and design, long enough to know that making something look simple is usually the hard part. A creative director and co-founder of The Caretakers, he has worked extensively across insurance and financial services, helping turn complicated products into clear brands and experiences. He helped establish the product and brand environment InsureOS grew from, based on the fairly radical idea that insurance software should be clear, useful, and not miserable to look at.
