Not every quote should auto-close. Define referral rules as narrow or broad as you need: a specific vehicle make, a sum insured threshold, a driver age. The customer still completes the form normally; the quote just pauses at the end with a friendly wait message while your underwriter picks it up for review.

A rating engine is the part of an insurance platform that calculates the premium for a quote. It holds rating tables, factors, loadings, taxes, and levies. InsureOS's rating engine keeps every part of that calculation in a structured, versioned, editable form so an underwriter can read and change it without touching code.
Yes. We start by importing your current rates as-is. Same tables, same loadings, same excesses. The first quote on the new platform should match the last quote on the old one.
Every rating-table edit and rule change is versioned with author, timestamp, and a diff. Roll back to any prior version; replay any historical quote against any rate version.
That is the whole point. The portal exposes the rate sheet directly. Engineers wire up the integrations once; rate iteration belongs to the underwriting team.
Each product can compose multiple covers, each with its own factors, rules, and excess options. Multiple products run on the same engine; the engine does not care.
Referral rules use the same condition vocabulary as the rating rules: field comparisons, AND / OR composition, dotted-path access on the quote payload. When a rule fires, the quote pauses and routes to the right underwriter desk with the full rate trace.
Every rating-table row carries an effective-from date. New quotes pick up the row that is live on the cover-start date; renewals re-rate against the version that was live when they bound. The trace recorded on each quote stays accurate even after the table changes.
